Body scrub: 7 homemade recipes
If you want to have a great body for as long as possible, you really need to take care of it and establish a beauty routine consisting of cleansing, exfoliation and moisture. Although there are many beauty products in supermarkets and pharmacies, the homemade recipes are the ones to look for. For instance, salt is the oldest beauty ingredient, being used since ancient times as a body scrub compound.
It’s true that it doesn’t remove all the dead cells, but your skin will turn shiny and a lot healthier if you use it on a regular basis. Also, by massaging your skin with salt you’ll improve your blood flow and detox your entire body.
Strawberry scrub for your body
In order to have beautiful and glowing skin, you can prepare a body scrub as it follows: smash eight strawberries, add two tablespoons of avocado oil, four tablespoons of cucumber puree, three tablespoons of rice flour and a tablespoon of Aloe Vera gel. Stir until you obtain a thick paste, apply it on your body and let it work for 15 minutes. Rinse it off with warm water when the time’s up.
Aloe Vera and oatmeal body scrub
Pamper your skin with a body scrub made of oatmeal and Aloe Vera. This mask works as a very powerful scrub, being used mainly for your feet, but you can also apply it on other areas of your body. If that is the case, mix a cup of oatmeal powder with two tablespoons of corn flour, a cup of sea salt and two tablespoons of Aloe Vera gel. If you want the scrub to be creamier, add a nourishing cream or a small amount of body lotion. Massage the resulting scrub all over your body and rinse it off with lukewarm water.
Body scrub based on lemon
This scrub is recommended for those of you who are using self-tanning lotions and got darker spots on their skin. To get an even color, use a lemon scrub. Here’s what you’re going to need: three tablespoons of sugar, three tablespoons of olive oil and the juice from half a lemon. Depending on your skin type, you can apply this scrub all over your body or only on your elbows, knees or feet. Also, if you’re going for a more refined scrub, remember to add 10 drops of your favorite essential oil.
Body scrub with bananas
Do you happen to have ripe bananas around the house? If you do and you don’t really enjoy the taste, don’t throw them away and prepare a body scrub with them. Bananas are a wonderful ingredient when we’re talking about skin care, so this is what you need to do: mix two bananas with five tablespoons of sugar and apply it on your skin. Massage it thoroughly and rinse it off with lukewarm water. Although it might feel sticky, trust us: you’ll feel like a million dollars afterwards.
If you want your skin to be soft and beautiful, try this body scrub. You need seven tablespoons of sugar and five tablespoons of olive oil. Mix this well and apply on your skin massaging your skin with circular moves. It is recommended that you use this scrub once or twice a month only, since it’s very harsh and can scratch the first skin layer.
Sea salt scrub
This type of scrub is ideal if you want to moisturize and heal certain epithelial deficiencies. You need a cup of sea salt, ½ cup of jojoba oil and a few drops of your favorite essential oil. Mix all these ingredients and apply the resulting paste all over your body after showering. Massage it thoroughly and rinse it off with lukewarm or cold water. If your skin is dried, feel free to apply a good moisturizer afterwards.
Rosemary and mint scrub
Combine the following ingredients: 2 ml of sweet almonds oil, a cup of corn flour, six drops of mint and rosemary oil and two drops of lemon juice. Stir until you obtain a thick paste. Let this paste rest for an hour and then use it just like you use any other body scrub, with circular moves to improve the blood flow. Wash the scrub off with warm water.
