Information on tooth decay

   Decay - it appears as o consequence of the smalt's lesion which allows the microbes from the mouth to invade the dentine. Thus, a cavity is being formed and it can touch the dental pulp, producing its aching inflammation or its necrosis(canker). It can produce complicate in lesions around the tooth?s root such as paradontitis or radicular abscess. The base can be affected by the periradicular granulom which constitutes a pest hole for different diseases : cardiac deseases, rheumatic fever, nephritis.

   Permanent molars are more receptive at decay in their first 4 years, when they define their calcification. If a child had had his teeth healthy until the age of 25, when the last molars appear, it will be improbable to develop decay until the age of 55, when the "ageing" decay develop. Therefore, microorganism control should be tried, as well as sweets' stint and a good dental structure. The tooth brush has to be carefully chosen. The tooth brushes made of natural hair are useless, as the only thing they do is to spread the alimentary remaints on all dental surface. The good toothbrushes are the ones which have 3 lines of hair. Tooth paste contains soap, abrasive substances, antiseptic and antienzymatic substances (fluorine). The fluorine fights against the enzymes caused by microbes that after many processes cause the decalcification of the smalt and the invasion of the microbes into the teeth. The aminofluoride tooth pastes are more efficient then the ones containing fluorine. A correct brushing of the teeth has to be done by vertical moves of the toothbrush from the gums down to the tip of the teeth and by circular moves so that the tooth brush can clean out the teeth and the gingival sac. The mineralization of the teeth has to be done firstly by breast feeding until the age of 6 months, at least. An adequate proportion and quantity of calcium and potassium has to be provided in order to cure the teeth's fissures. Those vegetables that are rich in calcium and potassium, the fish lard rich in vitamin D have to be present in children's alimentation, especially in winter. The fluoride from the drinking water is dangerous because of its toxicity(1mg per litre is permitted) and is useful only in the period of the development of the tooth.

   When a certain sensibility at warm or cold, or at sweet or acerb food appears, dental decays are due to appear as well and we have to go to a surgeon dentist for an exam. If not treated, the decays reach advanced stages and the spontaneous aches extend to the teeth next to it, especially when eating something warm, cold, sweet or acerb. When the pus destroys the dental pulp, the aches disappear-it is the stage of canker of the pulp when the dental crown is being destroyed. The color of the teeth (the blackening) appears because of an amalgam of copper (at children) and silver (at grown-ups) As a consequence of a traumatism or of untreated decays. The impregnation with nicotine of the smalt and of the dentine, with nicotine, at smokers, provokes an altered colour of the teeth, and the surgeon dentist has no cure for this. The same goes for factories with polluted atmosphere, with acids and vapours, coal dust, copper, plumb.

   Mg, Fe, Ca, Fl are necessary.
   Those alimentary products containing carbonates can determine the apparition of dental decay on the outside of the teeth.
   It is indicated to clean your teeth using sea salt and plant teas such as: sage, chamomile- if inflamed and sheperd's purse in case of gum bleeding. A good method to take care of your teeth, recommended by J.Paungger and Th. Poppe in their book "Power of the World" is beech ashes on a wet tooth brush, used to rub your teeth. Once in a while, make a sunflower oil cure (rub it inside your mouth), it cleans the teeth.

Vegetables juices are recommended:

- carrots + beetroot +spinach (it cleans the gut and the liver, it feeds the blood);
- carrots + dandelion + kohlrabi. The dandelion leaves and its root contain Ca, Fe, Mg, Na, K; the kohlrabi and its leaves contain Ca, Fe. The calcium from the kohlrabi + the Mg from the dandelion and the elements from the carrots give strength to the bones;
- carrots + dandelion + spinach.

We can also combine:

- carrots + dandelion + lettuce;
- carrot juice.
- They can be avoided if we chew sage leaves which clean and strengthen the teeth or fresh bay laurel leaves.

Gargle with cowslip tea.

- Rubbing the jowl and the upper jaw. The metabolism organs are being organized. The alimentary diet is being changed.

- Recommendation against tooth aches: to put burned eggplant on the affected spot. Therapists from Basarabia recommend concentrated infusion of allspice and anise kept in the mouth on the affected side. Swedish bitter is a good disinfectant. This does not exclude a visit at the surgeon dentist's.

To keep the natural colour of your teeth, apples and cedrate fruits.

   Dental decays can be prevented by brushing the teeth in the morning and in the evening, by rinsing our mouth after each meal, by avoiding harsh or hot aliments. The appearing of dental decay has to do with the alimentary type. Refined beetroot sugar is the most important and productive enemy of dental decay, as it constitutes the main food of microbes. It is better to substitute the sugar with honey. Dental decay implies more then 30 microbes. An equilibrium between the aerobe and the anaerobe microbes has to exist in our mouth. Antibiotics, such as penicillin V ruin this equilibrium and the illness called Candidosis. Streptococcal, which is very responsible for the apparition of decays, becomes stronger.
