Avoid alcohol, bread and fizzy drinks. As long as the diet is followed under medical guidance, no serious problems will appear.

Cabbage soup recipe

Ingredients: a grated or chopped cabbage, 2 large onions, also chopped, a can of tomatoes in tomato sauce, 2 peppers, 4 celery roots, 1-2 cubes of a mixture of spices and dried vegetables, black pepper, fresh chopped herbs (dill, parsley), 6 sliced carrots, 250 g of green beans.

Place all the vegetables in a large pan and cover them with water. When the mixture starts to boil, add the mixture of spices and dried vegetables and continue to simmer for 10 minutes. Add the pepper and the dried herbs.

First day: Eat only fruit and as much soup as you like. Only unsweetened tea, black coffee, blueberry juice and water are allowed.
Day two: eat raw or steamed vegetables (avoid peas, corn and dried beans): for dinner you deserve a big baked potato, with butter and, obviously, cabbage soup. Don't eat fruits!!
Day three: you can eat fruits, vegetables and soup, but no baked potato.
Day fourth: eight bananas, skimmed milk and soup. Today, you need the carbs in milk and bananas, as well as their calories.
Day fifth: boil 300- 500 g beef (or chicken, fish) in the juice from six fresh tomatoes. Try to drink 6-8 glasses of water and make sure you eat a helping of soup.
Day sixth: 2-3 beef stakes, with a salad or fresh vegetables (no potatoes) and at least one helping of soup.
Day seventh: steamed rice, fresh vegetables and unsweetened fruit juice - no matter the quantities - and soup, at least once.

Experts disagree with this diet, identifying it as another vegetarian obsession, whose basic quality is that is eliminates water from tissues. "The cabbage doesn't burn fats", says Xavier Pi-Suyner, certified physician, director of the Obesity Research Centre of Research at St Luke's Roosevelt Hospital. And he adds: "But the soup is filling and acts as an appetite suppressor." On the other hand, many of those following this diet complain of nausea, bloating, dizziness. "If you eat two helpings a day as part of a very carefully though diet, you will most likely lose weight, but it doesn't have to necessarily be cabbage - any low calories soup is ideal", says dr. Pi-Suyner.
