Day light diet

This diet has regular meals for the entire week, actually, for the entire year, with one single day of food restrictions - the "light" day. Thus, little by little, you will lose the pounds that annoy you - up to 10 kg for good - without breaking the balance of your organism.

The scheme of the "light" day

Breakfast
- 30-40 g whole bread or whole bread toast; 30 g jam or honey; tea in any quantity
Morning and afternoon snack
- a fruit of your choice

Lunch
- 250 g raw or steamed vegetables
- 200 g white meat or 2-3 eggs or 300 g fish

Dinner
- 250 g raw or steamed vegetables
- 200 g white meat or 2-3 eggs or 300 g fish

In Day-Light Day

Don't cook with oil, vinegar or sauces. Use only lemon zest or balsamic vinegar and/or herbs, to replace salt. Don't drink fizzy drinks or alcohol. Only 2 liters of flat or mineral water are allowed. If you are a vegetarian, in order for you not to give up proteins, replace meat and fish with soy.

The diet was created by Marc Messegue and experimented in his health center in Umbria. The purpose? To obtain a constant weight loss of 200 g per week, 800 g per month, 10 kg per year. The secret? Diet only one of the 7 days of the week. A "sacrifice" easy to tolerate for people who have had difficulties losing weight and who, for this reason, never had positive results in the past. "many times, adopting a diet represents giving up your social life and, with that, to the little pleasures of life", explains Messegue. If you feel it as a burden, you will inevitably give up easily any type of regime and "throw" yourself on foods, eventually gaining more than the weight lost.

Here is the Day Light Idea:

A day of controlled diet, which will drop a kg off the scale. Out of this kg, 80% is water, the rest is fat. It is enough to repeat the light day every week in order to amount a gradual loss (200 g per week) which, in time, guarantees a consistent and certain loss. Attention, though: some dieticians don't consider a day of dieting a week enough to compensate food excesses. The method is valid only for those with moderate food habits. Whoever considers him/herself a food passionate must adopt some extra rules even for the rest of the days:
- Eat slowly, with no stress or interruptions, in a peaceful and calm atmosphere;
- Before the main meal, eat a salad, which offers a filling sensation;
- Eat at fixed hours;
- Don't drink during meals: this only leads to a more difficult digestion, due to an increase in the amount of acid in the stomach;
- After 5 pm don't eat foods rich in proteins, hard to digest, and 2 hours before going to bed don't eat anything;
- In the evening, before going to bed, you can drink a cup of linden or chamomile tea.

During the week

Decrease the usual helpings in size: if you want to lose up to 4 kg in a year, it is enough to give up a fork worth of pasta, rice or two slices of bread every day and follow these rules:
- Stop eating pasta or rice more than once a day and, at the same meal, if you eat bread, don't eat rice or tomatoes.
- Start every meal with raw or steamed vegetables.
- As snacks, try to always eat fruits in season that not only block the appetite, but also provide vitamins and oligo-elements useful to the biochemical and hormonal system and, through that, to the metabolism.
