Properties of redcurrant

The redcurrants consumed before meals are tonic (appetizer) and if consumed after eating they are help the digestive process, being very useful in gastric disorders or insufficiencies. They are also used as laxatives but also as re-mineralizators. They can also cause diuresis with elimination of a large amount of uric acid, making them very helpful in gout, gravel and rheumatic diseases, and even heart and renal conditions or generally in all the cases in which a too large amount of toxins accumulated in the organism. They are useful for urinary sores exactly because they favor diuresis but also because they have an active principle that can destroy a series of bacteria. Through diuresis they can help detoxify the body, making them very helpful for arthrosis, rheumatics, gout, etc.

They can also stimulate the hepatic function. And also they help raise the blood pressure.

Raw fruits can be consumed in any amount. It is recommended still to follow a diet of a minimum of 20 days. People with weight issues can consume even up to 300-500 g at once, up to 3 times a day. In smaller amounts, it is a re-mineralizator and a tonic.

The fruit juice can be consumed in amounts up to 20-50 ml at once, up to 3-4 times a day in long treatments.

Redcurrant jelly - (it has the same properties as the juice); squeeze the juice from the redcurrants and place it on fire, together with the sugar (in an equal amount). After it begins to boil, remove the foam every 5 minutes. Mix the jelly adding 100 g raspberries for 1 kg redcurrants.

Wine. For 1 kg fruits place 1.5 kg sugar and 5 l boiled and chilled water. You can add up to 20 g of beer yeast to hurry the fermentation process. Let to ferment and put a cork through which a rubber hose is passed, and attach a jar of water at one end of the hose. Watch the fermenting process in the jar (5-6 weeks) and take some of the yeast with another rubber hose. Place in a different container, filled as much as possible, and cork again. Leave for 30 days for a new fermentation process with an air-tight cork. Open after 30 days and carefully transfer in air-tight bottles, whose corks are to be covered in melted beeswax in order to be hermetically sealed.

Add once again sugar and water to the remaining fruits and they will be left to ferment again. A wine will be obtained; this one, unlike the former, is no longer medicinal but a normal drinking wine that can be consumed during meals.

From the yeast, you can obtain brandy through distillation.

Dried fruits powder - take a small amount 3 times a day. Keep under your tongue for 10 minutes, then swallow with some water.

It is also heavily used for the preparation of compotes, syrups, jams, etc., much more appreciated not only by housewives but only by children who adore their taste.
