Tansy health benefits (Crysanthemum balsamita - Fam. Compositae)

Popular names: Bitter Buttons, Cow Bitter, Mugwort, or Golden Buttons.

Traditionally: the leaves were often used, in many areas, for cuts, swellings, infected wounds and they were applied raw, singed or mashed and mixed with fat.

Combined with onions, yarrow and some mint, an ointment was prepared for swellings. The plant were dried in a very warm place, crushed and then mixed with sheep suet or butter, oil and honey, goose fat melted in a pan. After they were mixed in the pan, wheat flower was added to bind them together. The resulting paste was split in half. One half was placed on the chest for cough and after half an hour, after it was cold, the other half was added.

The tansy was tied together with white onion, baked and mixed with ground incense, basil and costmary.

The decoct was kept in the mouth against thrushes and tooth aches.

The ground root, soaked in vinegar, was placed on the stomach against hernia.

The decoct of the aerial parts and especially leaves was consumed for lung and liver conditions. The decoct was administered to women after birth as a fortifier and to stop any blood losses.

In many parts, the decoct was used for washing their heads against headaches or to stimulate hair growth and to prevent its loss.

It was also placed in the baths of the weak ones to make them stronger.

Pharmaceutical action tansy

Anti-inflammatory, soothing, healing, diuretic, stomachic, antispastic. It stimulated hair growth.

Preparation

- place 2 teaspoons of ground plant in 250 ml boiling water. Cover for 10 minutes, then filter. You can drink up to 2-3 cups a day.

Tincture:

Place one part ground plant with 5 parts alimentary alcohol 70C. Air-tight the bottle and keep at room temperature, shaking often. Filter after 15 days. It can be used in amounts of 10 drops-1 teaspoon 3 times a day, diluted in 100 ml water.

It can be used for the following medical conditions: liver diseases, digestive disorders, mouth thrushes, hair loss, swellings, baldness, bruises, diarrhea, epilepsy, furuncles, hemorrhoids, herpes, skin infections, wounds that heal with difficulty, wounds, menses regulation (the tincture is preferred, consumed 2 days before the menses and to continue consuming it the entire period. Stop when the menses are over), cuts, ulcerations, bruises, intestinal worms (enema with an infusion 2 times more concentrated and at room temperature, several days in a row).

It is very efficient in hair regeneration. For this, follow a treatment with tea from this plant, consumed 2 times a week and also with a tincture to rub the skin of the head with, 2 times a day, until the full recovery of your hair, and then carry on only with the daily baths.
