Plants that improve your immunity

It would be easiest to never fall sick! Because this is not possible, it would be ideal to do everything to keep our health condition.

The immune system is composed of billions of cells whose only task is to protect us against aggressions of any sort, be it germs or the proliferation of cancerous cells. The aggressions on our body are of various sorts and, in every second, our immune system is demanded to solve some problem.

When we must fight an infection or a flu, we blame various bacilli, cocci or vibriones when, perhaps, they are just moving on with their existence, but our body is in a bad moment and cannot fight the aggressors. It is then preferable to harden the immune system before it is stuck in a disease.

This is not so difficult, taking into account that we have, at our disposal, the "green pharmacy" (the plants growing all around us). Besides that, it is easier to opt for natural protection methods (correct nutrition, natural remedies), than choosing antibiotics that, besides the help they provide, they destroy some bacteria useful for the organism, many times found in the intestinal tract.

Arnica

It has, besides its immune system-stimulating effects, a powerful antibiotic function, which makes it used for treating infections already installed. Arnica is used internally especially as a tincture, which can be find in natural pharmacies.

It is recommended to people without major health problems, but who want to avoid colds. It increases the immunity of those already suffering from flu, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis, sinusitis. It grows on high plains of mountains.

Echinacea

It increases the capacity of the organism to resist infections. It acts as a natural vaccine against the flu. The species with red flowers is the one usually used. It acts quickly (within a few days) and has no unwanted side effects.

It is used as a tincture or as a powder, obtained by macerating the plant. Some people have opted for this plant in order to treat a cold already present and have noticed that they also got rid of other infections, like sinusitis or some renal infections.

Marjoram

It quickly increases the organism's temperature, thus helping the immune system. The marjoram tea can stop a cold already install from getting loose. Marjoram tea also brings, besides warming the body, a welcomed muscular relaxation. You will sweat during the treatment (that lasts up to 1-3 days). It is recommended to those suffering from cold sensitivity and to those with a faulty peripheral circulation. It is an aromatic plant, also used as a spice.

Blueberry

The black beans, so tasty, are not the only "good part" of the blueberries, but also its leaves and the stalks of the plant. Vitamins A, E, F, PP and B (B1 and B2) can be more easily assimilated, coming straight from the plant. The therapeutic effects of the plant are multiple: the regeneration of blood vessels, neutralization of infections in the intestine, protection against radioactivity, adjusting immune processes. We can find blueberries in mountain areas, at higher heights.

Underbrush

Its curative effects have been known from antiquity. The syrup and the tea are very energizing and increase the resistance of the organism to disease. Products based on underbrush (fruit tea, buds, syrup or oil) have a significant part in adjusting the processes in the organism, providing an increased immunity. They are also used for treating stomach and duodenal conditions. It is a shrub that grows especially on soils rich in salt.

Cabbage

Besides the renowned purpose of bringing those having abused alcohol back down to earth, the cabbage broth helps in treating several diseases or conditions: constipation, low blood pressure, a difficult digestion or feverish states.

For sensitivity to cold, it is recommended to consume 1-2 glasses of sour cabbage broth a day, thus achieving a better immunity. Drunk in large quantities, the broth adjusts the body temperature and has the effect of an immunity stimulant.
