What plants heal sore throats?

It is winter and the damaging of the ozone layer is not so quick so as to spare us the unpleasant parts of the cold. You will still have to fight cold feet and hands and sore throats.

Any problem has its cure, you only have to uncover it. How many times have you said to yourself that you would be careful and leave the house only with a proper scarf around your neck, avoid staying too much in the cold and taking care to always keep your feet warm?

Yes, you did say that to yourself but it happened again and instead of being happy and cheerful, you have a dreadful sore throat. Still, your cold can pass quicker if your respect the traditions of the winter: no cold days without warm tea!

To avoid sore throats...

First of all, you need to know how to prevent a sore throat. And you can do it with the help of plants. Echinacea is the best plant for this. You can also use other plants; drink at least 2 liters of fluids a day - use plant teas (it is recommended to drink green tea, tea from chamomile, nettle, ribwort, thyme, sage, marjoram) and freshly squeezed vegetable juice.

You need a lot of vitamin C, so a cure of citric fruits is very adequate; you can also squeeze a lemon in the tea you drink.

Small problems, big advice

If you feel a cold approaching, it is better to give up the daily morning coffee. It is also recommended to give up the black tea - it has a diuretic effect, dehydrates the organism and thus the toxins are concentrated, which favors the apparition of colds. It is preferable to sweeten your tea with honey and not sugar.

Here are some simple tips to feel better: if you want to get warm, take a hot bath with fir or lavender essence. Or choose a gargle with a saline solution to get away of sore throats (boil a cup of water and add a teaspoon of salt - chill it in advance). Salt is also useful as compresses; place pickling salt in a sock, warm it and then keep it around your neck.

Teas and other solutions

Let's see which are the teas that actually help calming sore throats and driving the cold away. Some plants that have a beneficial effect for colds and flu, which you can use as teas, are willow, and namely its bark (a decoct from two teaspoons of plants for a cup of water), chamomile, brotherwort, pansy and nettle.

If you're already coughing, thyme and ribwort teas are recommended, as infusions or field eryngo as a decoct from two teaspoons of plant for a cup of water. You can also try a gargle with concentrated sage tea or a saline solution with sea salt. Sage contains natural disinfectant substances.
