Glucose
Main food: sugar.
Glucose molecules are substances made up of three elements: oxygen, hydrogen and carbon.
That is why they are also called carbohydrates and contain, beside sugar, the following:
- dextrose ("grapes sugar")
- fructose (sugar from fruits)
- maltose (from germinating seeds)
- lactose (from milk sugar)
- starch (at the base of all pastries)
- honey
- cellulose
The role of glucose:
- renders easy the use of proteins
- prevents acid substances accumulation
- fixes the water in tissues
The glucose excess produces:
- fermentation
- obesity
- sugar diabetes / mellitus diabetes
- dental carries
Lack of glucose can produce disorders in cell's use of proteins or lipids, which leads to acidosis. In these conditions, the reserves of proteins and the lipids of the organism are consumed and the disequilibrium resulted is a disease.
